The OPUS GRATA company was founded on October 6, 2006. At the end of 2006 it acquired the "Muiža" property in the Parish of Stalbe in the District of Cēsis. The company commenced the manufacture of chip briquettes in the autumn of 2007.

Technology

The briquettes we manufacture are the highest achievement in briquette production technology. At a high temperature and under high pressure, specially dried and prepared wood sawdust are pressed into a dense mass. At high temperatures, lignin, a natural substance which holds fibres together is separated from timber during the manufacturing process resulting in the creation of the timber’s dense mass and the product itself.

The origin of the raw material ensures the full ecological safety of this fuel.
